...a very Happy Easter if you're celebrating today; a belated Happy Passover if you've just finished celebrating; and a Beautiful Day either way! Here's a pretty card featuring one of Anna's favorite flowers, courtesy of Hero Arts' Protea Flowers Clear Stamp Set:
I stamped the larger protea on Canson Watercolor Paper, using VersaMark Ink and WOW Primary Pink Robin Embossing Powder, and colored it with Tombow Dual Brush Pens. There are coordinating dies for the Protea Flowers Stamps, but I didn't need them this time. When I'm coloring realistically, I like to have an image in front of me. This pic, via Google, on my phone, let me know I needed a bold pink at the top of the petals, a soft yellow at the bottom, and a barely-there shade of pink to blend them.
When my flower was sorted out, I put the panel back into my MISTI, where I could position the two bees and the sentiment and stamp them (with Black Soot Distress Oxide) into a shape that would fit within the largest of Penny Black's Framed Dies. I cut that once out of a semi-matte selection from Sizzix's Gold Surfacez Opulent Cardstock set, and once from American Crafts Cork with Glitter specialty cardstock; and assembled them with the cork framed by the gold, on top of the watercolor panel, which I trimmed to fit. I added my framed protea to a 5.5" top-fold square card from Ranger's Distress Woodgrain Cardstock, with half inch double-sided foam adhesive, on top of a soft yellow panel adorned with Pinkfresh Studio's Slim Stitches Essentials Die.
I hope your April has started off well, and that it will be your most creative month of 2021 so far!
favorite season is Spring!
