Tim Holtz's Baseboard Dolls add instant vintage style and whimsy to any project, but they're not exactly colorful; which is why I decided to pair them with my brand new set of Sorbet Scoops Memento Dew Drops mini ink pads from... appropriately enough... The Ink Pad.
These little mini tear-drop shaped ink pads are ideal for using with smaller stamps on the MISTI, but also, they work really well when used directly on paper. In this case, the paper is ATC-sized scraps of Canson Watercolor Paper and I masked off the edges with strips of MT Matte White Washi to make a little frame.
I made a background for each of the twelve colors in the Sorbet Scoops set: Rhubarb Stalk, Rose Bud, Angel Pink, Sweet Plum, Lulu Lavender, Summer Sky, Paris Dusk, Bamboo Leaves, New Sprout, Desert Sand, Potter's Clay and London Fog. There's also a second set of twelve colors, called Snow Cones; plus lots of individual colors in stock!
I added little torn accents of sheet music and some vintage cancelled postage to each, and attached a Baseboard Doll, and selectively chose words from Dina Wakley's Collage Words set and attached them with Cocoinna Gluestick. I added a wax seal to each with a variety of Classic Icon Fleur du Lis Seals, including the Anchor, Owl, Compass, Unicorn, Bare Tree, Dragonfly, Music Staff and Paw Print motifs; using a Glue Gun and Glue Gun Sealing Wax in Cranberry and Copper. Off White Jute Twine tassels complete the design.
These guys are headed to The Ink Pad for a visit before going home with some special customers! ♥
