Inspiration can come from anywhere, or anyone! When Anna, owner of The Ink Pad, mentioned that she thought our friend Linda Edkins Wyatt's newest Lemurian Gardens stencils from StencilGirl would look really cool if done in tones of browns and sepia, with maybe some zen-doodling on top; I immediately agreed. So I decided to base my next card on exactly that idea. Or, as it turned out, my next few cards!
I used several of the flowers from Linda's ATC Mix Up stencil and her 6" Lemurian Leaves stencil. I experimented with a few different Distress Ink Colors (Vintage Photo, Frayed Burlap and Antique Linen turned out to be my favorites); several formats (ATC, slimline and A6) and many different combinations of layers consisting of kraft cardstock, Rinea gold metallic foiled papers, Shizen handmade paper and various shades of brown cardstock. And as it turned out... they were all fairly cool!
I added sentiments from Picket Fence Studios' Slim Line Nested Rectangles die set, did some outlining with Pitt Artist Pens in Sepia and Black and added a little more metallic sparkle with the gold pen from my set of Zig Metallic Dot Markers.
But truly, I'm pretty sure the Lemurian Gardens Collection would be wonderful in ANY color palette... including YOUR favorite!
