Would this be a good time for a New York City themed card featuring MTA NYC Subway Stickers paired with Michelle Ward's Hexagon Pattern Stencil from The Ink Pad?
I've used two different packs of Subway Stickers: the Train set has the large yellow tag, Brooklyn Battery Tunnel and the Far Rockaway; the Route set has the green skyline with part of the subway map sketched beneath is, as well as that fun Coney Island poster and the LaGuardia Airport. All of the stickers are super-thick vinyl and sturdy enough to be used on luggage, a laptop, the cover of a planner, or pretty much anywhere else you'd like a fab retro NYC sticker, but I used them to make a card, because that's what I do, lol. The Ink Pad also has MTA Washi Tape and I love how the red Ticket style tape goes perfectly with the stickers.
The background of my six inch, not-quite-square card was made by putting Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide through the Michelle Ward x TIP Hex Pattern Stencil and then embossing it with divinely gold-specked Stampendous Frantage Embossing Enamel in Aged Marine. Then I filled in around the design with a bit more Pumice Stone and Speckled Egg Distress Ink. I stamped I ♥ NY from the Michelle Ward x TIP Skyline Cling Stamp Set (it's also available separately a super-cute woodmount) in Crackling Campfire and then used Tim Holtz's Crackling Campfire Embossing Glaze on top for a super-opaque burst of color.
There's a whole line of Michelle Ward x TIP New York City cling stamps, wood stamps and stencils available at The Ink Pad, if you love the city as much as I do, you should probably check those out!
loves NYC... forever!
