Did you know that The Ink Pad's longtime friend and teacher Linda Edkins Wyatt just released her first set of StencilGirl Stencils? They're called the Lemurian Garden Collection and comprise two 6x6" stencils (Tulip and Leaf) and three 4x4" minis called Pansy, Lily and Spiral. For a limited time, if you buy all five stencils from The Ink Pad, you'll get a beautiful Intention Card handmade by Linda herself! Meanwhile, I (Lauren) was super-excited to get my hands on these and have a bit of a play!
I can see about a million possibilities for these beauties, but to start with a made a couple of cards. The first one features the Lily Stencil, which I've added on top of a few strips of collaged torn paper, using Distress Oxides in Seedless Preserves and Victorian Velvet. I added some additional motifs in green with the Spiral Stencil, and outlined very loosely with a fine-nibbed Pitt Artist Pen in black. I finished off with a few sparkly accents, for which I used a Tinou Glitter Marker, in bold purple.
My second card is a very similar composition to the first, but this time I went vertical and chose the Pansy Stencil. I used oxides in Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade and Picked Raspberry; my foliage is in Bundled Sage, using several repeats of the leaf from the Tulip Stencil. I let the design run off the panel, to be a bit more dynamic. This time I used a golden Tinou Glitter Marker at the center of the blossom.
I love how these came out, I cannot wait to try different combinations of colors and patterns with these lovely stylized flowers!
Check out all of the Lemurian Garden stencils, not to mention the many other fine StencilGirl products we have at The Ink Pad.
