And what better way to celebrate the happiest day of the week than with some amazing new Mandala Cling Stamps from Impression Obsession, available at The Ink Pad.
I had a lot of fun experimenting with different combinations of oxide ink and embossing powder. Some of my faves were Vintage Photo, Chipped Sapphire and Speckled Egg Oxides in WOW clear embossing powder on kraft paper; and the subtle texture of Pumice Stone on white paper. I especially liked the look with the round, wrought-ironish Mandala Cling 2 stamp, which I've used both colored and uncolored on the lower layers of my cards.
But it's hard to beat good old Ranger White embossing powder on white cardstock, for a resist effect with blended oxides; in this case Chipped Sapphire, Mermaid Lagoon and Speckled Egg, blended outwards from the center of the Mandala Cling 1 stamp. I could not decide whether I liked it best on a solid background, as a single fussycut image, or as multiple stacked elements, so I decided to make one card each way. Since the mandalas are so beautifully intricate I only needed a few simple sticky-back pearls as embellishments.
Of course there are LOTS more Distress Oxide Ink colors, not to mention a rainbow of Embossing Powders and Glazes; the combinations must be pretty close to endless!
never gets tired of trying
new color combinations!
