...can you fit into one blog post? If the taxis are The Ink Pad's adorable Michelle Ward Taxi Stamp, the answer is SIX! The cards in question also use elements from Michelle's Skyline, Manhole Hex and Manhattan Map cling stamp sets; against a dramatic background of Distress Oxide Ink Blends.
The design is based on a sample card I made for the store in May. I was flattered and excited that a few customers wanted to make their own version (it's EASY and fun!) and a few more just wanted to buy that card. So I made some additional variations and they're listed in the online store as LB NYC Greeting Cards.
If you'd like to make your own version, you can find links to the stamp sets in the first paragraph, and a link to the original card right here. What really sets off the NYC elements is the blend of Distress Oxide Inks in the background. Each card has a different combo, with the darkest shade in the center of my A6 panel, tapering out at the top and bottom to the lighter shade. The card above features Villainous Potion and Dusty Concord; the card below has Villainous Potion and Prize Ribbon.
The third card combines Chipped Sapphire and Blueprint Sketch.
The fourth blends Broken China and Peacock Feathers.
The lightest card pairs Lucky Clover with Cracked Pistachio.
Of course, you could pair ANY two relatively close shades of Distress Oxide Ink and get a beautiful gradient style blend; I bet your favorite combination would work beautifully!
Meanwhile, if you prefer buying cards to making them, these are just a few of the many beautiful cards available at The Ink Pad!
