"If it rains, look for the rainbows" is my favorite sentiment in Picket Fence Studios' "After the Storm" Clear Stamp Set from The Ink Pad. But if you don't love that one, no worries... there are also four additional sentiments, in a variety of attractive fonts; as well as three lovely images. I've used two of the latter on this card:
I stamped the large cloud image and the sentiment in VersaMark ink on a piece of Canson Watercolor Paper and embossed with Ranger's Black EP. (I stamped and embossed the little girls with umbrellas in the same way, but on a scrap... so I could fussycut and pop them up on 1/16" Foam Tape.)
The stormy sky was made by watercoloring with my Karin Brushmarker Pros. I scribbled all three of cool grey shades from my beloved big box of markers, onto an empty Avery Elle Acrylic Pocket (they're also good for storing stamps and dies lol!) and used a waterbrush to apply the colors randomly all over the background. I loved the effect, but the sky was just a little too stormy-looking, so at the end, I added a tiny bit of sapphire blue, as well. I colored the rainbow and the little girls in the same manner, adding shading right from the pens, after the watercolored image was dry. I layered my 5" panel onto squares of American Crafts Holographic Cardstock and Chalkboard Cardstock et voila!
Making a special card does double duty in terms of encouragement: YOU get the fun and satisfaction of creating it; then your friend or relative gets the treat of having it arrive in their mailbox. It's a true WIN/WIN! ♥
