Picket Fence Studios' This Dog is for You stamp is so adorable, it might be doggone irresistible! Here are a pair of cute canine cards which are embossed differently, but both colored with Karin Brushmarker Pros.
I always emboss more than one image, and I often try out a few embossing powders, because you never can tell when a wild card choice will turn out to be unexpectedly awesome. In this case, my wild card choice was Ranger's Broken China Embossing Glaze; and it was emphatically NOT awesome, as you can see, lol!
Luckily, the Black and Walnut Stain versions were very nice, so I focused on them. I colored the backgrounds first in a pale and fairly forgiving shade; and then the dogs themselves, using my Karin Brushmarkers. I'm lucky enough to own the Mega Set, but even with fewer colors, you can get a good result (and lots of color variation!) by scribbling a few colors onto an acrylic palette and picking them up with a waterbrush. If you find you've used a too-dark or too-shrill color, go back over with a little water, or with a light grey or tan pen, and that tones them down nicely. The "Smile" sentiment comes from Lawn Fawn's Scripty Bubble Sentiments stamp set; I used my old-school Dymo labelmaker to create "Wag More, Bark Less".
